KJCCC Division II Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

Sophomore Seliann Concepcion had a great week and has helped the Lady Red Ravens to a perfect 9-0 record in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division. This past week the Ravens defeated No. 7-ranked Johnson County and NEO in four sets. Concepcion registered double-doubles in both of Coffeyville’s matches this week, with only two hitting errors total in eight sets. In the win over Johnson County she also had 20 digs and five aces. 

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Setter of the Week

Laia Jaca is the lone setter for the Allen Red Devils, while also providing solid defense. She recorded a double-double in both matches for Allen this past week. Jaca was key in the defeat of No. 11-ranked Cloud County dishing out 41 assists, 16 digs and three aces. She can also score her own points to help the team adding five kills against Cloud. Versus Independence, Jaca would maintain her average from the night before still holding up the 8.2 assists per set standard. The setter would also have a season high 19 digs in the defeat of Independence. Jaca is currently fifth in the Jayhawk East in assists per set. 

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

Celymar Cabranes

Allen Community College

Celymar Cabranes was crucial in a 2-0 week for Allen. Celymar typically plays in a different location on the back row for Allen, but was changed to accommodate the type of shots Cloud County uses. Cabranes would accumulate 30 digs in both matches last week for the Red Devils averaging an astounding 6.67 digs per set. She would only commit three receiving errors in 51 serve receive attempts. Cabranes is currently seventh in the Jayhawk East in digs per set and fourth in digs in conference play.
