KJCCC Division II Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

Dayana Chara had a pair of monster matches last week for Cloud County, recording double-doubles in both matches while leading the T-Birds in kills both nights. The sophomore was nearly untouchable on Monday evening at Neosho, recording 30 kills in a four-set win over the Panthers while adding 10 digs and three blocks while recording a .446 hitting percentage. Just two nights later against No. 5-ranked Fort Scott, Chara would record 22 kills and a .340 hitting percentage while adding 15 digs in a five-set defeat to the Greyhounds. With the 52 total kills, Chara now ranks fourth among KJCCC players in kills and 14th nationally while also ranking ninth nationally in kills per set (4.20). 

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Setter of the Week

Riley Bontrager had two of her biggest matches of the season as the freshman has been playing some of her best volleyball as of late. In a four-set win over Neosho, Bontrager would record a career-best 59 assists which equated to a 14.75 assist per set ratio as the No. 10-ranked T-Birds would win the final three sets against the Panthers. The Seneca, Kansas native would follow up her performance with 55 assists in a five set defeat to No. 5-ranked Fort Scott as Bontrager also added 10 digs and one service ace against the Greyhounds. Bontrager now ranks 22nd nationally in total assists despite being just one of two players in the top-25 nationally to play in fewer than 25 matches and fewer than 85 sets. Her 10.21 assist per set average ranks sixth among all NJCAA Division II Players. 

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

Alejandra Delgado averaged an amazing 5.13 digs per set on the week as Cowley played a pair of ranked opponents. She recorded a career-high 31 digs in a five-set defeat against No. 10-ranked Highland and amassed an eye-popping 2.52 passer rating on the week. Her 157 career service aces rank second in Cowley volleyball history for a career. She currently ranks fourth in the KJCCC Division II in total digs and second in total aces.
