2021 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 3

Offense: Gabriela Badilla (Seward County)
Gabriela Badilla enters her second season for Seward County Community College and led the Lady Saints to an undefeated weekend in Cisco and Ranger Texas.  Badilla had 50 kills, with a hitting percentage of .440, and 40 digs in the four matches. In the match against Vernon College Badilla had 14 kills, a 5.91 hitting percentage and a team high 9 digs.

Setter: Berfin Mertcan (Seward County)
Berfin Mertcan orchestrated the offense for Seward County Community College to help the Lady Saints to a 4-0 outing in Cisco and Ranger, Texas. Mertcan provided 123 assists in 13 sets for an average of 9.46 assists per set. In the final match of the weekend against Ranger College Mertcan led the Lady Saints with a double-double of 29 assists and 15 digs to help Seward County to a 3-0 sweep over Ranger.

Defense: Mylena Testoni (Barton)
The two-time offensive player of the week this season, Mylena Testoni proved she is an all-around player this week for the Cougars.  As Barton shifted lineups and schemes this past week in Arizona, Testoni also adjusted to more of a defensive player in recording 12 blocks in the six matches and averaging 5.5 digs while averaging 2.77 kills per set with four service aces.
