2021 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 4
Offense: Hillary English (Dodge City)
Dodge City took the court for the first time in two weeks after a bout with Covid and put together a 1-1 week in opening KJCCC action with a win over Pratt on the road in four sets and a tough four set loss to Barton at home. Hillary English had a career performance in the win over Pratt notching 22 kills a career high and helping the Conquistadors overcome a slow start in the match. Her 20+ kills marked the fourth time in her career she had 20+ kills in a match and she made it a triple-double in the win with 10 digs and 17 assists. In the loss to Barton she tallied a team best 15 kills and added 16 digs. English leads the KJCCC West in kills per set (3.75) & is fifth in hitting % (.295), while she ranks 13th in the Nation in kills per set.

Setter: Isabella Guedes (Barton)
Isabella Guedes continued to thrive in Barton’s switch to the 5-1 system, averaging 11.29 assists per set and double-double numbers in Barton’s pair of victories this week. Guedes distributed 31 assists 20-plus assists in four of the five contests within the Cougars’ 6-2 offense helping Barton to a 5-0 week. The freshman tied a season high 27 assists, to go along with, a season high five service aces in Friday’s match against McCook.

Defense: Caitlyn Rexroat (Butler)
Sophomore from Lansing, KS, Caitlyn Rexroat, again had a strong week defensively for the Grizzlies in their four wins. Rexroat chalked up 26 digs in Butler’s KJCCC win over Hutchinson. She followed that up with another 20 digs in the match against Neosho and finished the week with a total of 65. She also had three service aces on the week brining her average to .5 aces per set this season. Rexroat is also averaging seven digs per set this season.
