2021 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 11

Offense: Jaryn Benning (Butler)
Jaryn Benning, second-year sophomore outside hitter from Topeka, KS, had a big final week in regular season helping Butler cap off an undefeated KJCCC season with two road wins. Benning finished the week with 24 kills hitting .573 on the week. She posted 11 against No. 14-ranked Seward and had 13 in the final match of the regular season against Garden City. Benning committed just one attack error in her 40 attempts.

Setter: Isabella Guedes (Barton)
The versatile Isabella Guedes made the adjustment from Barton switching from a 6-2 to a 5-1 attack in their two matches, guided the Cougar offense to a pair of road victories in clinching 2nd place in the conference.  Recording a double-double 32 assists and 10 digs with 3 aces at Pratt on Monday, Guedes refocused in mid-set change at Hutchinson to the 5-1 leading Barton to a 3-1 victory.  In that match Guedes put up 41 assists, had an assisted block, two kills, an ace, and grabbed 12 digs for her fourth straight and 13th double-double of the year.

Defense: Hanna Miller (Butler)
Hanna Miller averaged 7.85 digs per set this past week helping lead the backline in Barton’s two road match victories to clinch 2nd place of the conference standings.  The week performances moved Miller into the 4th best single season dig total and continued solidifying her 3rd place standing on the program’s all-time career dig chart.
