KJCCC Division II Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

Iva Halacheva continued her stellar season by being named the Most Valuable Player of the Triton Invitational Tournament and All-Tournament team – this tournament included No. 1-ranked Iowa Central, 11th-ranked Kirkwood, 15th-ranked Des Moines Area and other solid teams from Iowa and Nebraska. She was a key player in Cowley's 5-0 week and continuing Cowley's winning streak to 30 matches by hitting .468, and averaging an amazing 4.56 kills per set with only seven hitting errors all week. She also added six aces, while crossing the 1,400 career kill mark to extend her Cowley record for kills in a career. 

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

Erin Thompson was named the Best Libero of the Triton Invitational Tournament and All-Tournament team. She anchored the defense and serve receive in the upset win over top-ranked Iowa Central with a 2.13 passer rating and averaged 4.67 digs per set against them. She has been a valuable piece in Cowley remaining unbeaten at 30-0.

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Setter of the Week

Rossana Papa was named the Best Setter of the Triton Invitational Tournament and All-Tournament team. Papa, who was recently named Cowley College Female Athlete of the Month, led the offense that pushed the team to four 3-0 sweeps and extended the Cowley winning streak to 30 matches. She averaged an incredible 12.38 assists per set on the week and added 10 kills while hitting .563 along with six aces. Papa passed the 1,000 career assists milestone during the week and currently has 1,085 total assists.
