2023 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week - Week 3

Offensive Player: Kassidy Nixon (Barton)
Barton outside hitter Kassidy Nixon led the 19th ranked Cougars to a 4-1 week including a straight set victory over Garden City to open up KJCCC play.  Playing all sets in Barton's five matches, Nixon averaged 3.24 kills per set on .319 overall hitting including a career high .636, 14 kill on 22 attempts without an error to wrap up the weekend at the McCook Invitationals.  Matching the career high 14 kills the day prior to Gillette, Dixon added double figure digs in the two 14-kill matches to post her 2nd and 3rd double-double of the redshirt freshman's career.  Playing all six rotations, Nixon added 69 digs for a team second best 4.06 per set for the weekend including another career high in collecting 18 digs against Laramie County.

Setter: Tola Maczka (Garden City) 
Garden City setter, Tola Maczka continues to lead the charge for the Broncbusters and in six matches last week amassed 226 assists. She surpassed 40 assists in four of the six matches and added 57 digs, four aces, and three blocks on the week. The sophomore ranks second in the nation in total assists with 519 and sixth in assists per set at 10.18.

Defensive Player: Vitoria Stedile (Garden City)
Garden City libero, Vitoria Stedile continues to clean up the back line for the Broncbusters racking up the dig numbers recording 128 digs in six matches last week. She recorded 20+ digs in five of the six matches last week. On the season she has amassed 290 digs which leads all NJCAA Division I and ranks fifth in digs per set at 5.69.
