2023 KJCCC Volleyball Division II Athletes of the Week - Week 4

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

Lady Tiger freshman Laura Bonomi recorded three double-doubles and had double-digit kills in four of Cowley's five matches on the week. Bonomi averaged an impressive 4.40 kills while also hitting .419. She is currently ranked first in the NJCAA and KJCCC in hitting percentage at .487.

 

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Setter of the Week

The sophomore setter recorded two double-doubles on the week against John Brown and KJCCC foe Allen County. Papa averaged 12.67 assists per set in a road win over NJCAA and KJCCC DI Butler Community College. She is currently leading an offense that is hitting .383 to lead the NJCAA, along with averaging 14.85 kills per set to also lead the NJCAA.

 

KJCCC Division II Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

Johnson County sophomore libero Emily Silvers had her best efforts of the season last week, recording 95 total digs for an average of 5.27 per set while helping lead the No. 2 Cavaliers to five victories, including three over nationally ranked teams. She topped double figures in digs in all five matches and had 20 or more three times. Her 25-dig effort in the win over Lincoln Land is a new season high. Silvers currently ranks fourth in KJCCC D-II with 179 total digs and is third in digs per set at 4.84.
