Highland, KS- The perfect 29-0 Highland Women's Basketball team continued their winning ways with a 93-56 victory over Kansas City Kansas CC on Wednesday night in front of a packed Ben Allen Field House.
Wednesday night was also sophomore night for six women's basketball players and they made the most of it winning in dominating, Highland basketball fashion.
The Scotties jumped out to a quick 24-7 lead after the first quarter shutting down the Blue Devils offensively and forcing 11 turnovers.
Kansas City Kansas picked up the pace in the second quarter limiting the Highland offense and forcing the Scotties into eight turnovers in the quarter. The Scotties lost the quarter but still took a 37-21 lead into halftime.
The third quarter was Highland's best offensive quarter scoring 31 points to the Blue Devils 12. Scoring was spread out in the quarter as seven different Highland players scored in the third.
Highland finished things off in the fourth quarter winning the quarter 25-23 and winning the game 93-56.

Blaize Burgess each finished the game with 13 points each. Sophomore transfer
Berniezha Tidwell filled the stat sheet scoring 15 points, dishing out seven assists, she grabbed six steals and had five rebounds. Other sophomore player
Sydney Brinlee finished with four points, seven rebounds and three steals while
Maria Alcantara scored five points and grabbed four rebounds.
Highland scored 44 points off of 39 Blue Devil turnovers while also out rebounding KCKCC 33-26.
With a KJCCC Championship already in the bag, the Scotties will travel to Fort Scott CC to play their final regular season game on Saturday, February 24 at 2:00pm.
With a No. 1 seed in the Region VI Tournament, Highland will get a first round bye and host the winner of the No. 4 (KCKCC) vs. No. 6 (Hesston) seed on Saturday, March 3
rd at 1:00pm in Ben Allen Field House in Highland, KS.
