The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's volleyball team (3-2) got swept by Johnson County Community College Aug. 28 at JCCC in Overland Park, Kan. This makes the third consecutive year where the Blue Devils got swept by the Cavaliers.

Although the Blue Devils fell short, they were able to get closer each set, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-21. Mayah Pridgett led the team with nine kills from her 23 total attempts. Mercedez Brown was not too far behind with seven kills on 33 total attempts. Briazia Osborne was responsible for all three service aces and led the team with 18 assists. Nykeriah Allen marks her third game on the season leading the team with blocks (4). Alejandra Aponte kept her hot streak going with the team high 15 digs. Pridgett led the team in points with 9.5, while Brown had 7.5.

The next match for the Blue Devils volleyball team is against the No.15 Neosho County Community College Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Sep. 4 at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kan.
