The Highland Men's basketball team is on a five-game winning streak and 11-4 overall after a big 26-point victory on the road against the Storm of Southeast Community College in Day Two of the Southeast Holiday Classic in Beatrice, Nebraska.
It was an evenly matched first 20-minutes as Highland took a 45-41 halftime lead but the Scotties broke loose in the second half out-scoring the Storm 49-27 as they cruised to victory 94-68.
Alonzo Williams led all scorers on the night with 24 points, three rebound, two assists and two steals.
Holden Redparth chipped in 14 points while
Taiveyhon Mason added 13 points and
Ryan Haskins contributed 12 points.
The Scotties did not shoot it very well form deep making only 5 of 18 attempts from three. They did shoot it well inside the arc at 57% and from the free-throw line making 19-23.
Highland was able to create offense with their tough defense forcing 19 turnovers, some of which led to Scottie points.
Highland will play one more game before winter break on the road this Saturday, December 16
th as they travel to Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE for a 2:00pm tip.
