Highland stole the ball 35 times and forced 46 turnovers as they controlled both ends of the court and defeated the Yellowjackets Friday night in Lamoni, IA 118-37.
Mariane De Caravalho led all scorers with 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists but there were three other Scotties who posted double-double in the game. Sophomore
Niccolly Ramalho put up some big numbers posting her fifth double-double of the season with 17 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and four steals.
Berniezha Tidwell also posted a double-double but with a more unconventional stat line with 18 points and 12 steals.
Sydney Brinlee scored 10 points and grabbed 13 boards posting her 10th double-double of the season.
Keondra White scored 12 points and had seven rebounds while
Kamryn Lemon scored 11 points and
Stefania Chiziane put up 10 points in her first game of the season.
Highland dominated the glass grabbing 38 offensive boards and out-rebounding the Yellowjackets 64-13.
Highland is back in action Sunday, January 14 as Gogebic Community College out of Ironwood, MI comes to town. The Scotties will have to bring the defensive intensity as Gogebic has the NJCAA Div. II leading scorer and the 4
th leading scorer in the country on the roster. That game will tip at 1:00pm.
