Tuesday marked the first true road game of the season for the #2 Highland men's basketball team and it came in Boone, Iowa against #16 Des Moines Area Community College.

Scotties faced their first halftime deficit of the season and were unable to overcome it in the second half falling 65-54 in the contest.

Back and forth and within a basket or two for half of the first half until DMACC grabbed the lead and held it going into intermission falling down by as many as 12 points in the first and trailing 34-24 at halftime. First half three-pointers helped spear the lead for the Bears of DMACC, while the Scotties struggled from the floor with Aguek Deng tallying 10 of the first half points for the Scotties.

Highland pushed early in the second half cutting the lead to seven at 37-30 with 18:23 remaining in the game but DMACC had an answer pushing back and growing their lead to as high as 17-points. Scotties dwindled the lead back down to seven multiple times in the final minutes of the contest but DMACC held on to the lead and handed the Scotties their first loss of the season as Highland fell 65-54.

Scotties struggled from the floor shooting just 30.3% from the floor but managed to keep the turnovers down to 13 while forcing 20 from DMACC and held the Bears to just 37.3% from the floor.
