Slusarek Drops 18 in First Game Back

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball took down the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds, 50-41 Feb.13 at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kan. Samaire Slusarek played her first game since Dec.13, 2024, finishing with a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds - her first double double since Nov. 30 against Southeast Community College.

Bennett Peck drained two three pointers and finished with eight points, four rebounds and two assists. Emma Berenguer Fernandez held a team-high three assists while scoring seven points, and Kylee West had a career high team-high 12 rebounds, finishing the day with six points.

For the game, the Lady Blue Devils shot 14-48 from the field (29.2%), 7-19 from three-point range (36.8%) and 15-20 the free-throw line (75%). The Greyhounds shot 16-59 from the field (27.1%), 3-24 from three-point range (12.5%) and 6-13 from the free-throw line (46.2%).

The next game for the Lady Blue Devils is against Highland Community College at 12 p.m. Feb.15 at Park University in Parkville, Mo.
