Women's Basketball | November 2
Box Score The Women's Basketball team put up 61 points going in to halftime with a 26-4 scoring difference in the 3rd quarter to help a 121-50 victory over the junior varsity squad from the University of Saint Mary in their November 1st season opener.
2nd Team All-American,
Mariane De Caravalho, started her sophomore campaign with a double-double earning 25 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Kamryn Lemon had a great first showing for the Scotties going 7-11 on field goals, draining one three, to help finish with 21 points.
Blaize Burgess kept her flow from her freshman season to start out going 4-5 behind the arc with 14 points to start out her second year with the Scotties. Berniezha Tidwell and
Niccolly Ramalho both contributed 16 and 14 points respectively, and Sophomore transfer Sydney Brinlee posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Highland bench players contributed 56 points on the night and the team out rebounded their opponent 49 to 19. The Scotties forced the Spires to 28 total turnovers leading to 38 points off those turnovers.
Highland will travel to Iola, KS to compete in the Allen Community College tournament on Friday and Saturday. They will take on Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Friday at 12:00PM and Missouri Baptist University Saturday at 12:00PM.
