NCMC baseball took care of business over the weekend, sweeping Hesston College 11-5, 13-5 & 10-1 to improve their season record to 20-5. They also hold a perfect 6-0 region record through the first two series. Next up will be a road game Tuesday with Metropolitan CC before hosting their first region series on Friday and Saturday against Moberly Area CC.
Powering the potent Pirate's offense against Hesston was All-American Julio Guerrero. He went 10-12 with a homer and 3 doubles. He also scored 7 runs and drove in another 6. Second baseman Alejandro Paz also had a nice weekend, batting .455 with a grand slam and 8 RBIs. As a team, NCMC batted a robust .381 and knocked an impressive 11 extra base hits.
Earning wins on the mound were starters Luis Leon (5 IP, 2 ER) and Eric Torrero (5 IP, 1 ER, 3 Ks) plus relief man Dylan McIntyre (3 IP, 0 ER, 3 Ks). As a staff, the Pirates did an excellent job of limiting free bases and pounding the strikezone.

Moberly Area Community College 2-4
