North Platte Community College Volleyball split its final games at the Ramada Inn Classic in Columbus Saturday afternoon.
The Knights steamed past their opponent in the first match, sweeping Dakota College at Bottineau in three sets: 25-5, 25-16 and 25-15.
North Platte was led by Morgan Ramsey who had 14 kills and five aces. Her teammates, Tyrah Woods and Emily Johnson, compiled six kills each.
Whitney Chintala went for 21 digs, while Tessa Metschke contributed 13 digs and five aces. Avah Steggall posted 29 assists.
"We served well and ended with 18 aces as a team," said NPCC Volleyball Head Coach Alexa McCall. "It was a good start to our day, and we were able to try some things offensively."
That match was followed by one against Neosho County Community College. The Knights won the first set then lost the next three. The scores were: 28-26, 21-25, 16-25 and 17-25.
Ramsey took the lead in that game as well with 17 kills, 14 digs and two aces. Woods was right behind her with 14 kills, and Vanessa Wood had 10.
Chintala notched 20 digs and two aces. Metschke had 11 digs and three aces.
"We just ran out of steam mentally in our last game," McCall said. "There were times we showed a lot of fight, and toward the end we just couldn't execute."
The next match for the Knights will be their final home game of the season. They will take on the Hastings Broncos at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the McDonald-Belton Gym. The event will be Sophomore Night for NPCC Volleyball, during which time the team's sophomores will be recognized.
