Three Goals in 12 Minutes Foil Blue Devils 4-1

Men's Soccer vs Barton

Coffeyville scored three goals in a span of 12 minutes, and then turned back a Kansas City Kansas Community College rally for a 4-1 win Wednesday.

The win evened KCKCC's overall record at 2-2 and Jayhawk Conference mark at 1-2 heading into a 1 p.m. contest with Barton County in Great Bend Saturday. Coffeyville, meanwhile, improved to 3-1-2.

Coffeyville's Michael Nesbitt broke a scoreless tie with an unassisted goal 22 minutes into the game and, Mario De La Fuente (27:00) and Khudhur Abdulameer (34:00) boosted the Ravens' lead to 3-0 with back-to-back goals.

KCKCC closed back to 3-1 in the second half, thanks to a pair of Olathe Northwest graduates, sophomore Jacob Thomas scoring on an assist from freshman Noah Conover, at the 71:00 mark. However, Coffeyville's Paulo Diaz matched the goal with a penalty kick eight minutes later.

The Blue Devils had nine shots, six on goal, while the Ravens got off 14 attempts, seven on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Axel Tonietto had three saves for KCKCC.
