
Northeastern Baseball Earns The Victory Over Colby Community College 9-5 To Start Off The Four Game Series
Northeastern Baseball takes down Colby Community College in the first game of a four game road series 9-5. Ondrej Vank was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Vank got the win for the Plainsmen, going 4.2 innings, giving up three earned runs on 6 hits, walking one and striking out 8.
Zach McVay had a huge day at the plate, going 2-4 with a single and double and drove in 5 runs. McVay singled in the fourth inning, scoring three runs and doubled in the fifth inning, scoring three. The game was dead locked 0-0 until the top of the fourth inning when McVay drove in three runs on a single. Evan Gail came in for 1.2 innings of relief, giving up two earned runs on 5 hits, walking none and striking out one. Tony Slizowski finished off the game with .2 innings of relief, striking out one batter. McVay and Max Valerio were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits in the contest. Yusei Uzawa paced the Plainsmen with two walks. Overall Northeastern had a strong eye at the plate, totalling 7 walks in the game.
