Volleyball Sweeps Hutchinson to Begin Conference Play
EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler volleyball opened conference play with a statement win, sweeping the Hutchinson Blue Dragons 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-23) at the Power Plant on Wednesday evening.

Butler (3-2, 1-0 KJCCC) got off to an extremely quick start and never looked back claiming the first set 25-10 over the Blue Dragons (2-3, 0-1).
Butler hit an impressive .500 in the first set landing 14 kills on 24 attempts. For the match Butler hit .388 to the Blue Dragons .114.
Avery DeLong landed 12 kills on .611 hitting to lead the Grizzlies while Sarah Sullivan chipped in 11 kills to go with nine digs and four blocks. Anja Milosevic tallied 30 assists and Laynee Brown dug up 13 attacks.
Hutchinson threatened in the third set tying it at 22-22 late but the Grizzlies closed on a 3-1 run.
Butler heads to Taylorsville, Utah, this weekend to take part in the Crystal 'Inn'vitational hosted by Salt Lake CC. Butler will play three ranked foes in No. 4 Salt Lake, No. 13 Southern Idaho and No. 11 Utah State Eastern.
