
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore forward Maya Wallace has been a goal scoring tear in recent matches while the Lady Cavaliers defense extended its record shutout streak to 12 straight in a 6-0 victory at Allen Community College Wednesday night.
Wallace netted two goals, giving her three straight multiple-goal efforts, and four in the last five matches. She netted the first goal of the match in the seventh minute off a feed from Carson Sloan. Those two hooked up again in the 65th minute to put JCCC up 5-nil.
Sophomore midfielder Lotta Meindl and freshman midfielder Tatum Bresette each record a goal and an assist in the victory. Meindl scored the second goal with the assist going to Bresette who finished off the scoring in the 75th minute with an unassisted goal.
Meindl helped put JCCC up 3-0 when she found freshman defender Ashley Chaput for a 3-0 lead in the 20th minute.
Sophomore forward Jenna Knight made 4-0 in the 48th minute off a fed from freshman midfielder Lily Marshall.
Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Stoskopf earned her seventh shutout of the season stopping the only shot she faced. She currently ranks second in the country with a goals against average of 0.13 and she is tied for fourth in shutouts.
Jonson County (11-0-3/6-0-0) will continue conference play on Saturday when the host Hesston College at 7 p.m. The Lady Cavaliers handed the Larks a 6-0 loss back on September 18.
