
The Central Community College women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 2-0 win over Hesston College at Raider Field on Wednesday.
Naomi Espinoza logged CCC's first goal in the 20th minute off the assist of Nayely Quinonez-Gonzalez for a 1-0 lead, which held through halftime. Emily Fisher scored a goal in the 65th minute with Espinoza on the assist to extend Central's lead to 2-0. CCC netminder Rachel Willette kept the 2-0 shutout victory intact with seven saves.
The win gives CCC a final regular season record of 2-6-1.
Up next, the Raiders will meet Pratt (Kan.) Community College on Saturday in the first round of the Region VI tournament. The teams split the regular season meetings with each team winning at home. Game time in Pratt is set for 2 p.m.
