
The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Neosho County Community College Panthers, 80-74 Feb.1 in Chanute, Kan. The Blue Devils are one game behind the No.10 Johnson County Community College Cavaliers but will face them later this week.
Pierce Ross led the team with 21 points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist. He shot 7-18 from the floor and 4-9 from behind the arc. Jeremiah Lewis was hot behind the arc, shooting 3-4 and ended the game with 15 points. BJ Stewart had 14 points and brought down a team-high eight rebounds. Israel Randle had a team-high five assists and finished with 10 points. The men's basketball team has now won six in a row and will look to finish the regular season strong.
For the game, the Blue Devils shot 23-62 from the field (37.1%), 10-24 from three-point range (41.7%) and 24-31 from the free-throw line (77.4%). The Panthers shot 28-70 from the field (40%), 6-17 from three-point range (35.3%) and 12-19 from the free-throw line (63.2%).
The next game for the Blue Devils is against the Labette Community College Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Feb.5 at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kan.
