Larks go the way of the Dodo as the Blue Devils win by 40 points

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball took down the Hesston College Larks, 78-38 Feb.24 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. Samaire Slusarek had her sixth double-double of the season as she finished the game with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Destiny Ochs finished with a team-high 16 points while shooting 6-10 from the field and 6-8 from the free-throw line. Both Ochs and Emma Berenguer Fernandez also both shot 2-3 from behind the arc. Capri Garrett came off the bench and put up 14 points while shooting 6-12 from the floor. Kylee West and Zoe Clark combined for 14 points, four rebounds, five steals and one steal. Ja'Cole Johnson had 10 points, five assists and two steals off the bench.

For the game, the Lady Blue Devils shot 29-61 from the field (47.5%), 8-15 from three-point range (53.3%) and 12-21 the free-throw line (57.1%). The Larks shot 15-60 from the field (25%), 3-14 from three-point range (21.4%) and 5-11 from the free-throw line (45.5%).

The next game for the Lady Blue Devils is against Neosho Community College at 5:30 p.m. Feb.26 at Metropolitan Community College – Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo for Sophomore Night.
