
The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team (4-0) beat the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors (0-2-1), 1-0 Aug. 30 at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kan. The last time the Blue Devils began the season with four wins was during the 2020-21 season when they finished the season 12-4-1 and were first place in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
Sierra Montez scored the lone goal in the 37th minute with an assist coming from Lillian Chronister. Montez now leads the Blue Devils with four goals on the season followed by Amelie Max, Cora Ellermann and Kiara Carr who all have three. Maria Heuman and the Blue Devil defense has yet to let in a goal on the season and recorded one save against the Conquistadors. Carr led the team in shots with six and both Ellermann and Montez had four each.
The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against the Butler Community College Grizzlies at 6 p.m. Sep. 4 at the KCKCC Soccer Field.
