The Highland Scottie men fought through in their final regular season game against the Fort Scott Greyhounds in a 78-71 victory.
The team started out with a quick 8-0 lead but that quickly vanished with the home team fighting back on their own court. Highland led at the half 33-27. As a team, 6-18 three's were made shooting 33% and 24 of 30 free-throws were made.
Holden Redparth,
Taiveyhon Mason, and
Alonzo Williams all scored in double-digits with 22, 17 and 13 respectively, combining for seven of the teams eight assists, seven of the teams nine steals, and 11 rebounds.
Kevin Perry came off the bench to give good minutes with five points, four rebounds and one blocked shot.
After a 23-7 overall and 6-2 in conference record, the Scotties are seeded #2 in the KJCCC Div. II and Region VI and have earned a bye in the first round. The semi-finals will be held on the campus of Highland CC in the Ben Allen Field House with a 3:00 tip-off time versus the winner of KCKCC and Fort Scott.
