Highland Men Snag Road Win Over Ottawa JV

The #10 Highland men's basketball team continue their current stretch away from home on Sunday evening and picked up another victory topping Ottawa JV 114-56 in a contest to make up for the cancelled game against the Braves at the Scottie Classic.

Highland jumped up early and established an early double figure lead that continually grew over the course of the contest as the Scotties carried a 58-30 lead into halftime. Scotties continued their strong offense in the second half outscoring the Braves 56-26 to secure the 114-56 win.

Scotties put together a performance that saw multiple season bests a team which include a season high 114 points coming on 543% shooting marking the fifth time Highland has shot 50% or better in a game this season. Highland also won the rebounding battle 58-23 and had 14 steals both numbers are season bests for the Scotties. Ottawa struggled from the floor shooting 30.2% and had 20 turnovers, while Highland had single digit turnovers for the fourth time this season with only eight.

Marquise Milton once again led the Scotties posting 26 points on 8-11 shooting adding a 6-7 performance from the free throw line, four rebounds and four steals. Five other Scotties were in double figures along with Milton including Dylan Vincent who posted 16 points on 5-5 shooting adding three rebounds and five assists. Aguek Deng recorded his third double-double and second straight with 15 points on 7-12 shooting and 12 rebounds, while Rashon Johnson chipped in 13 points with seven rebounds and Jaron Flowers had 12 points with four rebounds. Zyon Smith finished with his first double figure performance posting 11 points and added six rebounds. 

The win moved the Scotties to 9-2 on the season and the season continues on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7:30pm against Baker University JV.
