Red Raven Men's Basketball Team Powers Over Colby, 73-56

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball team defeated the Colby Trojans 73-56.  With the win, the Red Raven's overall schedule improves to 12-5 overall and 4-3 in Kansas Jayhawk Comunity College Conference (KJCCC) play.  The 4-3 KJCCC record has the Red Ravens 5th in the 7 team KJCCC Eastern Conference standings.

Coffeyville started the game out quickly with freshman Larry White scoring six quick points in the first 90 seconds to give the Red Ravens a 6-0 lead to start the game.  Coffeyville went on to hold a 36-26 halftime lead which they never relinquished and ended the game with the 73-56 victory.

Against Colby, Coffeyville clamped down defensively only allowing the Trojans to shoot 36% (20/56) overall from the field and a meager 25% (4/16) from the three-point line.  Offensively, the Red Ravens shot the ball very well shooting 56% overall (29/52) and 42% (8/19) from three. 

Top performers in the game for the Red Ravens included a stellar performance from sophomore Tony Hutson with 24 points on 8/13 shooting overall and 4/9 from the three-point line, freshman Tylor Perry who contributed 15 points and 6 assists and Larry White who ended the game with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Next up for the Red Ravens will be a January 11th road game to Dodge City KS to take on the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors (8-7 overall, 0-6 in KJCCC play).  Tipoff on January 11th is set for 3:00 pm.
