MCC’s Thomas tabbed for All-tournament team

The all-tournament volleyball team for the McCook Community College tournament has been announced through a vote of the 19 coaches who brought teams to McCook Sept. 2-3. One player from each team was selected.

McCook Community College's Victoria Thomas and North Platte's Morgan Ramsey were their team's selections. Both teams went 2-2 in the tournament.

Thomas, a 5-8 sophomore right-side hitter from Houston played in 14 sets over the weekend and led MCC with 49 kills to go along with seven assist block and 36 digs. In the latest National Junior Collage Athletic Association national leader board, Thomas is ranked ninth in Division I with 144 kills in 12 matches. She has 124 digs on the season and 19 total blocks.

Ramsey, a 6-1 sophomore middle from Bartlett, played in 18 sets and was credited with 54 kills, four solo blocks, eight assist blocks and 49 digs. She averages 3.13 kills per set and ranks 22^nd in the Division II rankings with 119 kills. She has 13 service aces and 92 digs.

MCC is 7-5 to start the season. North Platte is 5-5. The two teams meet up Wednesday to open the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference schedule in North Platte at 7 p.m.
