
The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team fell to the Haskell University Varsity Reserve team, 78-73 Nov. 19 at Rockhurst University. Samaire Slusarek continues to shine on the Blue Devils offense while dropping a team-high 25 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. She now averages 18.5 points per game while shooting 42.3% from the field.
Emma Berenguer Fernandez had 15 points and a season-high six steals along with four assists. Amaya Gallegos was the only other Blue Devil to finish in doubles figures as she shot 6-12 from three and tallied 14 points. Zoe Clark brought down a team-high eight rebounds and scored eight points. Destiny Ochs came off the bench and scored five points and recorded three rebounds.
For the game, the Lady Blue Devils shot 28-64 from the field (43.8%), 3-12 from three-point range (25%) and 14-20 from the free-throw line (70%). The Fighting Indians shot 28-57 from the field (49.1%), 9-27 from three-point range (33.3%) and 13-19 from the free-throw line (68.4%).
The next game for the Lady Blue Devils is against Southwestern Illinois College at 7:00 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Southwestern Illinois College Classes in Belleville, Il.
