Highland Volleyball Suffers Loss to Coffeyville

Box Score It was a Top five clash in the KJCCC on Wednesday night at Ben Allen Fieldhouse as the #4 Highland volleyball team hosted #2 Coffeyville.

The Scotties saw Coffeyville utilize some runs throughout the night to hand Highland the 3-0 loss as the Scotties fell 21-25, 18-25, 19-25.

Set one was back and forth early until Coffeyville went on a 7-0 run from when the set was tied at 7-7 and the Ravens led 14-7. Scotties put together a 4-0 run of their own too close to within four at 18-14 and then another run late to tighten the set up but were unable to overcome the early deficit in the set falling 21-25.

Coffeyville established early control in set two working out to a 10-4 lead but the Scotties used a 6-1 run to trail only by one at 11-10 but never were able to tie the contest or take the lead as the Ravens took set two 18-25.

Set three saw the Scotties establish an early lead but would be tight with ties at the 9-9 and 11-11 mark but Coffeyville snagged the lead at 12-11 and then used a 9-0 run in the set to secure the set 19-25 which gave the Scotties the loss.

In the loss Cajia Allen finished with 10 kills, while adding seven digs, while Abby Williams recorded eight kills. Myla Turner notched 10 digs stretching her double figure dig match streak to 26-straight matches.

The loss moves Highland to 8-2 on the season and 0-2 in KJCCC action. Scotties continue their season on Wednesday, September 11th with Conference action as they travel to Iola, Kansas to face off with Allen.
