The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team (8-0-3) took down the Seward County Community College Saints (2-7-3), 2-0 Sep. 28 at the KCKCC Soccer Field. The Blue Devils are currently in second place in the KJCCC with a conference record of 6-0-3. Maria Heuman and the Blue Devil defense still have the least number of goals against with five.
It only took Sierra Montez two minutes to score the two goals in the game. The goals were scored in the 9th and 10th minutes and both assists were from Jaycee Schumann. That makes it back-to-back games that Schumann has had multi assist games. The Blue Devils outshot the Saints 24 to 15 and 14 to three for shots on target. Heuman was able to save all three shots that she faced.
The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against Dodge City Community College at 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kan.
