The Highland Women's Basketball team remained undefeated winning their 19
th game of the season with a 137-55 victory over Gogebic Community College out of Ironwood, Michigan.
Mariane De Caravalho and
Niccolly Ramalho both posted big numbers in the first half to get Highland out to a 61-22 halftime lead. De Caravalho had 18 points and eight rebounds at the intermission while Ramalho had 14 points and four steals.
The Scottie continued to dominate offensively the rest of the game shooting the ball 108 times and making 57 of them for a 52.8% FG percentage. Every player on the roster scored and six Scotties scored in double figures.

The Scottie defense held the NJCAA Division II scoring leader Lori Wardynski to only 19 points; she was averaging 27.5 and held the No.4 ranked scorer in Division II, Bailey Froberg to only eight points. The Scotties also forced the Samsons into 37 turnovers in the game. They held them to 40% shooting from the floor and 12.5% from 3pt range. Highland out rebounded Gogebic 57-29 and only allowed 10 second chance points.
Highland will take on Southeast Community College at home this Wednesday, January 17 at 5:30pm for their final non-conference game of the season. They will kick off conference play the following Wednesday on the road at No. 9 Labette Community College.
