Men’s Basketball Come Back From 13-point Deficit

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Southeast Community College Bobcats, 78-73 Dec.11 at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Mo. Despite the slow start, the Blue Devils were able to score 29 points off turnovers along with 33 bench points.

Jeremiah Lewis and Darren McHenry were two bench players who combined for 25 points. Lewis went 3-3 from behind the, shot 4-6 from the floor and finished with 13 points. McHenry finished with 12 points while bringing down nine rebounds and two steals. BJ Stewart went 8-15 from the floor and finished with 22 points, nine rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block. Camron Williford had 10 points, three assists and two steals. Ta'Veaion Washington had a career-high eight points in his 18 minutes of play. He shot 2-5 from the floor and went for a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 28-68 from the field (41.2%), 5-15 from three-point range (33.3%) and 17-20 from the free-throw line (85%). The Bobcats shot 25-57 from the field (43.9%), 10-21 from three-point range (47.6%) and 13-19 from the free-throw line (68.4%).

The next game for the Blue Devils is against Western Iowa Tech at 5 p.m. Dec.14 at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa.
