Blue Devils Go to 4-2 with 3-0 Sweep on NE Oklahoma

Women's volleyball celebrates after scoring a point.

Mary Bruno-Ballou went deep into her roster in a quick 3-0 volleyball sweep of Northeast Oklahoma A&M Monday night.

All 13 Blue Devils in uniform got quality playing time as the Blue Devils rolled to 25-8, 25-15 and 25-14 wins. The win improved KCKCC's record to 4-2 heading into a Jayhawk Conference clash with Neosho County in Chanute Wednesday night. The Blue Devils then return home against Labette Sept. 6.

Sophomore setter Taryn  Dial led a well-balanced offense with seven kills, 13 assists and five digs. Freshman Glodalys Colon also had seven of KCKCC's 33 kills. Blue Springs sophomore Lydia Huston added eight assists while soph Amauri Browning of Alliance, Neb., led in digs with 11. In addition to 33 kills, the Blue Devils had 32 assists and just 13 errors.

"We had some great performances," said Coach Bruno-Ballou. "Taryn Dial had an outstanding night both as a setter and attacker. Amauri Browning had a great defensive game, and (freshman) Mercedez Brown went in in set three and lit it up."
