It was quite different than the first time around on January 26
th as the #5 Highland men's basketball team picked up a two-point win back then against Labette and on Wednesday night in Parsons, Kansas the Scotties rolled past the Cardinals 85-48.
Highland asserted dominance early in the matchup taking the bull by the horns going up 20-7 with 9:47 left in the first half and out of the media timeout the lead continue to grow as the Scotties took a 40-19 lead into halftime. Both
Jaquan Daniels and
Taiveyhon Mason led the Scotties with 11 points each at halftime, while Labette shot just 17.2% from the floor in the half.
The second half was much of the same as the first the Scotties continue to hold Labette down and put together a 45-29 second half to cruise past the Cardinals 85-48.
Scotties shot 43.3% from the floor and went 20-33 from the free throw line in the win, while dominating the glass outrebounding Labette 52-35. Highland also continue to take care of the ball only turnover it over 10 times which is the ninth game this season with 10 or less turnovers in the game.
Daniels led the Scotties with 21 points in the win adding six rebounds and two assists, while Mason chipped in 19 points, six rebounds and three assists. Six other Scotties scored five to eight points each in the matchup.
