The Central Community College men's soccer team tied Neosho Community College yesterday evening at Raider Field, 1-1.
In this closely contested match, we saw both teams playing with passion and drive. The Raiders got the scoring started with a goal from Jackson Twizerimana assisted by Antonio Merola. The first half ended 1-0 with Jackson's lone first half goal.
In the second, Neosho County Community College's Callum Niven scored the equalizing goal with assists from Paul Eder and Joe Taylor, thus ending the match tied.
Overall, both teams put up a strong performance, but ultimately had to settle for a draw.
"We knew they were a team that was going to press with intensity and I liked our composure on the ball." Head coach Luis Pulido says, "We created frustration on their end when we were able to possess around them. Unfortunately, we were not able to put away other chances that we had and ended up with a draw."
The Raiders move to 4-4-1 and are in action next this Saturday vs. Allen County CC.
