
The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team beat the Division II No.25 North Central Missouri College Pirates 10-8 March 25 in Trenton, Mo. The Pirates entered the game with an impressive 17-4 record while the Blue Devils came in with an overall record of 16-10. The top half of the order had quite the day offensively as the first four batters recorded nine of the 13 Blue Devil hits.
Those four batters were Marcus Dierks, Freddie Nolen IV, Frankie Santiago and Tanner Pachorek. Pachorek had a team-high three hits and scored two out of the four times that he got on base. Santiago had a double while he went 2-5 from the plate and knocked in three RBIs. Nolen IV also recorded a double while he went 2-4 from the plate, scored three times, added two RBIs and got walked once. Dierks recorded two singles, got walked twice and scored twice. Both Cade Parry and Carter Towns had one hit each and recorded two RBIs. Towns hit his second home run of the season and Parry recorded his fourth double in his time in a Blue Devil jersey.
There were five pitchers who threw for KCKCC and Tanner Warner was the Blue Devil to record the "W". Warner allowed one run, three hits, three walks and struck out four batters in his three innings of work. James Dulle added his first save of the season as he didn't allow a single hit and struck out one batter in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The next series for the Blue Devils is against the Johnson County Community College Cavaliers at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. March 27 at the KCKCC baseball field for the Student Athlete Leadership Team (S.A.L.T.) game of the month.
