The Central Community College men's soccer team defeated Allen County Community College on Wednesday evening at Raider Field, 4-1.
In the first half, the Raiders struggled getting their footing set with the majority of first half ball control on CCC's side of the field. The Raiders managed to take a 2-1 halftime lead with goals by Jaime Zani (assisted by Antonio Merola) and Jackson Twizerimana (assisted by Alex Almeda) and a Calum Murphy goal for the Red Devils. In the second half the Raiders were able to pulled away, winning the second half 2-0. These two goals were scored by Joseba Zabala (assisted by Merola and Gustavo Leite) and Jaime Zani (Merola and Arlo Stone).
"This win was hard-fought. We struggled in the first half but showed better cohesion after the break," CCC head coach Luis Pulido said. "Antonio's passing made a significant difference. It's a step in the right direction, but we still have work to do."
Raiders are now 9-6-1 and take on Hesston College on Saturday at Raider Field.
