Northeastern Softball Takes Care of Business Against Fort Hays Northwest Tech To Earn Their First Win On The Year 13-0

Northeastern Softball was able to pick up their first win of 2025, as they took down Fort Hays Northwest Tech on Friday, 13-0. Reagan Fehringer was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Fehringer went four innings, giving up just three hits, striking out four and walking one.

Blayke Duncan collected three hits in three at bats for the Plainswomen. Duncan singled in the first, third and fourth innings. Northeastern won thanks in part to seven runs in the third inning. Reina Roberts drew a walk, scoring one run, Kelsi Jurczewsky doubled, scoring two runs, Duncan singled, scoring two runs, Isabelle Bencivenga singled, scoring one run and on run scored on an error. 

Northeastern started things out in the first inning after Duncan scored after tagging up on a fly ball. Addison Steele doubled, and Ryann Eurich grounded out, each scoring one run. Fehringer started in the circle for the Plainswomen and ended up taking the win. Maddie Cline came in in relief, throwing one inning, giving up three hits and striking out one. 

Maddie Westmoreland collected two hits in the contest. Duncan and Westmoreland each stole multiple bases for Northeastern. The Plainswomen showed a good eye at the plate, as they collected 5 walks in the contest. The defense was also sure handed, as there were no errors committed.
