Baseball Stabs Metropolitan With 17-2 Win

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The KCKCC baseball team overwhelmed Metropolitan on Tuesday with a 17-2 victory, forcing the game to end after seven innings.

KCKCC improves to 17-16 overall on the year.

The Blue Devils started things off by grabbing a 3-0 lead after two innings. Metropolitan added their lone two runs in the third inning, before the Blue Devils scored 15 unanswered runs – the biggest stretch being a five-run fourth and fifth inning.

Hector Candelas led the offense with a home run and a triple, while Mark Elliott had a team high four hits and five RBI in the game. John Moritz was credited with the win on the mound.

KCKCC returns to action Thursday when they begin a four-game series with Fort Scott. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. in Fort Scott, Kan.
