The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team (3-0) defeated the Seward County Community College Saints (1-1-1), 1-0 Aug. 28 at the Seward County Community College Soccer Field. The Blue Devils outshot the Saints 16 to 3 in the conference opener.

Maria Heuman entered the game having played 135 total minutes this season in net and had yet to let in a goal. She kept that streak going as she tallied two saves and didn't let one ball go past her. Kiara Carr was responsible for the only goal on the game with a rocket of a shot from just outside of the box with 23 minutes remaining in the game. Sierra Montez recorded the assist, which makes it her third on the season.

The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors at 3 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kan.
