Volleyball Drops Match to No. 5 Barton
EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler volleyball gave the Barton Cougars a scare on Monday evening at the Power Plant, but the Grizzlies ultimately fell 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 12-25, 20-25).

EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler volleyball gave the Barton Cougars a scare on Monday evening at the Power Plant, but the Grizzlies ultimately fell 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 12-25, 20-25).
Butler (12-13, 4-5 KJCCC) won the first set, the first set in conference play the Cougars (23-1, 9-0) have dropped this season. Butler held the Cougars to just .054 hitting in the first set.
Barton slipped by in extra points in the second set, winning 26-24. Sets three and four were not as close with the Grizzlies falling 25-12 in set two and 25-20 in set four.
Butler was led by Avery DeLong and Sarah Sullivan's 13 kills a piece with DeLong hitting a team-high .296. Anja Milosevic added 30 assists and 15 digs while Laynee Brown had 17 digs.
Barton's Phoebe Reyes finished with a match-high 18 kills.
Butler returns to action on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. when they travel to Colby to take on the Colby Trojans.
