
The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team took down the Southwestern Community College Spartans, 78-61 Nov. 23 at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. BJ Stewart has already received the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference DII Player of the Week twice already and continued to impress in the game against the Spartans.
Stewart shot 7-13 from the field and finished the game with 15 points, four rebounds and two assists. Israel Randle was right behind him with 14 points and a team-high six assists. Randle also continues to impress from the free-throw line as he made eight of his nine attempts. Jeremiah Lewis went 5-11 from the field while scoring 13 points and bringing down three rebounds. Both DJ Long and Darren McHenry came off the bench and scored six points each. The Blue Devils allowed just 39 Spartan shots as the Blue Devils put up 67.
For the game, the Blue Devils shot 30-67 from the field (44.8%), 17-39 from three-point range (43.6%) and 12-15 from the free-throw line (80%). The Spartans shot 17-39 from the field (43.6%), 4-16 from three-point range (25%) and 23-26 from the free-throw line (88.5%).
