Blue Devils Throttle Allen, 104-82

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (18-9, 9-2) beat the Allen Community College Cardinals (10-17, 2-9), 104-82 Feb. 17 in Iola, Kan. The Blue Devils put together a 58-point second half.

BJ Stewart was one of the top performers for the team, leading in scoring with 18 points and rebounds with 13. He had an impressive shooting performance, making 8 out of 14 field goal attempts, including one 3-pointer.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 41.9 percent from the field (36-86), 36.4 percent from three-point range (8-22) and 77.4 percent from the free-throw line (24-31). The Blue Devils owned the paint, bringing down a season-high 69 rebounds. Reginald Morris provided a significant offensive boost, scoring 16 points. He was particularly effective from beyond the arc, making 4 out of 10 three-point attempts. Additionally, he contributed one rebound and one assist.

Caleb Jones had a strong performance, tallying a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. He was efficient from the field, making 5 out of 8 field goal attempts. Camron Williford played 22 minutes, contributing six points. He was effective from beyond the arc, making 1 of 4 three-point attempts. Additionally, he grabbed three rebounds and recorded two assists and one steal. Pierce Ross was a key contributor off the bench, scoring 17 points. He was efficient from the free-throw line, making 8 out of 10 attempts. Ross also contributed four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Mason Jones had a perfect shooting night, making all three of his field goal attempts and converting all four free throws for a total of 10 points. He also grabbed one rebound and recorded one assist. Mikequese Taylor played 19 minutes, scoring seven points and grabbing nine rebounds, showcasing his presence on the boards. He also contributed three assists.

The next game for the Blue Devils is against the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Hy-Vee Arena.
