Coffeyville, Kan. - In an impressive conclusion to their 2025 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference season, the #20 NJCAA-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team defeated the Barton Cougars with a commanding score of 89-55. The victory allowed the Red Ravens to conclude their season with an overall record of 24 wins and 5 losses, alongside a 19-5 record within the KJCCC. Their performance secured them a third-place finish out of 13 teams in the competitive KJCCC Div I conference and a #3 seed in the upcoming Region 6 postseason tournament.
Although the first quarter saw a closely contested battle, the Red Ravens came alive in the second quarter, outscoring the Cougars 25-10. They maintained their dominance in the third quarter with a 27-15 scoring advantage and capped off the game with a 24-17 performance in the final stretch.
Key standout players for the Red Ravens included sophomore guard Norika Welch, who led the Ravens with an impressive 24 points alongside seven rebounds. Freshman guard Aspen Clarkson contributed significantly with 14 points, while sophomore guard Camree Johnson made her mark with 13 points and seven rebounds. Additionally, freshman guard Karliey Parker added to the team's performance with 12 points and six assists.
With their solid #3 seed placement in the Region 6 Tournament, the Red Ravens will advance directly to the quarterfinals without the need to compete in the opening round. They are set to face the winner of the matchup between #6 Seward County and #11 Pratt, with the quarterfinal game scheduled to take place at Coffeyville on Tuesday, March 11th, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
