Blue Devils Defense Shuts Down Haskell, 71-38

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (4-2) forced 29 turnovers on Friday night for the second game in a row, as they took down the Haskell Fighting Indians (1-7) 71-38 at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley. Jada Johnson led the way with 20 points, three steals and seven rebounds.

The Blue Devils defense only allowed 11 points by Haskell in the second half. The Fighting Indians struggled from the field and only converted 15 of the 54 field goal attempts (27.8 percent).

After the 20-point game from Jada Johnson, she now averages 21 points a game along with 6.7 rebounds and is shooting 53 percent from the field on the season (48-90).

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 38.1 percent from the field (24-63), 28.6 percent from three-point range (6-21) and 55.6 percent from the free-throw line (15-27). The Fighting Indians shot 27.8 percent from the field (15-54), 14.3 percent from three-point range (2-14) and didn't lead once during the game.

The Blue Devils are set to face the North Central Missouri Pirates at 2 p.m. Nov. 26 in Trenton, Mo.
