NIACC falls to Johnson County, 76-72
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The No. 1 NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 76-72 decision to No. 9 Johnson County CC on Friday night at the JCCC Classic.
NIACC (11-1) led 42-35 at the half but Johnson County outscored the Trojans 41-30 in the second 20 minutes to claim the four-point victory.
JaQuaylon May led Johnson County with 27 points and Lukas Miller scored 15 points.
NIACC was led by sophomore Deundra Roberson with 21 points. Trey Sampson scored 14 points and James Harris scored 12 points.
Sampson led the Trojans with 11 rebounds. It was Sampson's third double/double of the season and fifth of his career.
NIACC returns to action Saturday against No. 19 Highland (Kan.) CC at 2 p.m. at the Johnson County CC Classic.
