
For the second time in three days, the Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team split against the Neosho County Community College Panthers, but this time at the KCKCC baseball field Saturday. Marcus Dierks added four hits and three RBIs in the series against Neosho, giving him at least one hit in eight consecutive games.
In the first game, the Blue Devils fell short 7-6 as the Panthers were able to put up one run in the top of the ninth inning to secure the win. Dierks had three hits and two RBIs while Cade Parry went 2-5 from the plate and brought in two RBIs. Braden Horn, Tanner Pachorek and Frankie Santiago all had a multi-hit game as Santiago made it a third consecutive game where he has hit a home run.
There were four Blue Devils pitchers who let up seven runs with the 11 Panther hits. Caleb Reed threw for the first four innings and let up three runs from five hits. Reed managed to strikeout six of the 21 batters he faced. Caden Howell recorded the loss, letting in one run from the 3.1 innings of work.
For the second game, KCKCC bats were going in the third through fifth innings as they scored all five runs in that span. Ian Woita and Horn had two hits each, tallied two RBIs and scored twice. Dierks had a triple and both Freddie Nolen IV and Soita recorded a double.
Camden Brashear recorded the win as he went for five innings letting in just two runs, two hits and two walks. He struck out three batters and let up a home run.
