The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team tied the Barton Community College Cougars, 1-1 Oct. 12 at the Barton Community College soccer field. This is the first time that the KCKCC Women's Soccer team has been in first place in the KJCCC since the 2020 season. They remain undefeated with an overall record of 11-0-3 and conference record of 9-0-3.
Blue Devil goalkeeper, Maria Heuman, recorded a season-high saves as she saw nine total shots on goal from the Cougars. Although letting one in, she saved the other eight. Cora Ellermann was able to put the ball in the back of the net in the 69th minute with Kiara Carr getting the assist. That is Ellermann's fifth goal on the season. The Blue Devils are currently behind Butler in the KJCCC standings by just one point.
The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against No.16 Hutchinson Community College at 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at the KCKCC soccer field.
